Everyday Organization with Cottonelle Mega Roll
During my pregnancy, I got to know every bathroom around town. Like, real well. It came as no surprise to my husband that I selected our local Joan’s On Third (aka “the place that half my paychecks go to weekly”) as my most favorite place to use the bathroom and eat. Not only could I get my weekly croissant and chinese chicken salad craving accomplished (this diet is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics as part of a healthy pregnancy, people. Trust me), but I could comfortably go to the bathroom. As a germaphobe, I started to notice that I was gravitating towards restaurants where not ...Read More
Lately, I’ve started to come to terms with the fact that no one has a perfect or easy life. Everyone’s got “somethin’”and we’re all just trying to get by. Even when I see those lovely little photos and updates on my social platforms, I’m reminded that yes, life is good for me and my friends, but it’s not always easy and often times, a lot of times, it requires thick skin. Especially for moms.
This year, though I’m beyond excited to have baby on the way, has definitely had its bumps. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself, it’s that I am a warrior. I’m a fighter. I am one tough mother.
There’s ...Read More
What post plastic perfection seeking looks like.
This past year, I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible brands and partners on various campaigns. While a lot of my editorial content has been tied up in these various campaigns, this blog is still very much dedicated to telling candid stories, sharing ideas for DIY projects, fashion favorites, recipes, and more. By the end of the year, I plan to give this blog a complete face lift and makeover (if only under-eye cream worked that fast), which I’m super excited about and very much ready for.
When I speak with web designers and marketing teams, or am out and meet new people (or my ...Read More

Gulp. My son is going to be a kindergartener. A full-fledged kindergartener! This year, shopping for back to school apparel and items is more poignant and important than ever. Though my son spent last year in Transitional Kindergarten (thank goodness for “red shirting”), this year really counts as “The Year.” It’s go time, for reals, and there’s no turning back. (Sigh). But, lucky for me, I’ve teamed up with Collective Bias and SearsStyleto find the ...Read More
This post is sponsored by Nestlé, which compensated me to partner with California Pizza Kitchen® frozen pizza and share news about the “Adventures in Entertaining” campaign this summer.
About a month ago, we moved from a unit in our building to another unit in our building. The upside to the move: bigger space, extra bedrooms, a chance to start fresh (hello, DIYprojects!), and a gorgeous rooftop deck. The downside to the move: moving. Let’s face it, even if you’re moving 200 feet, moving is tough and requires a lot of planning and patience.
That’s where a good party comes in.
When one thinks of summer, outdoors, and food, the ...Read More
Who cares about New Year’s Resolutions or getting caught Facebook Stalking when you can finally book a vacation to Turks & Caicos? Well, okay, I may be getting ahead of myself here… But based on what I’m about to tell you, I’m feeling pretty confident that some sort of luxurious escape, replete with cabana boys and cocktails is in my near future….
Why? Because I’m working with eBay! I’m very excited to announce that I have been asked to serve as an ambassador on the eBay Parent Panel!
Now, here’s the deal. I’m not a master eBay seller at all. In fact, I have to be honest, I’ve never even sold anything ...Read More
When it comes to “the home,” I’m not sure the saying, “it’s what’s on the inside that counts” really works. Sure a home needs to be filled with love and warmth– a safe haven from the outside world. Stuffed with family, kids, and pets, it needs to be functional and utilitarian, and not just decorated, pretty and impressive… sure … And while keeping your home tidy and perfectly organized is all the time impossible, there are a few ways that can sort of mask the chaos (aka. Stuff it away) and make it appear like you have your shit together.
BTW, What am I even saying? I’m writing this ...Read More
Preschool. Year two. Definitely not as anxiety producing as last year when everything felt unknown. This year, Jonah seems to be hip to the notion of all things circle time and hasn’t shown an ounce of separation anxiety as I get barely a ‘bye’ after drop off. All this is a relief, of course. The hard part, getting organized and getting a good morning routine down pat. The morning routine… a definite work in progress. But thanks to P-Touch Label Makers, I have to say, I’m feeling on top of my game in the organization department.
The night before school, Jonah decorated his plastic bin for his cubby and we ...Read More
I’ve often talked about how the old me, the JBJ (that is, Jenny Before Jonah) was highly organized, highly anal, highly efficient. Obviously, a few things were always a little messy— I had my Lucy Closets and unorganized wallets, sure. But I wasn’t all over the place. I had a system. I knew where things were. I didn’t have to shave while taking a conference call and folding laundry. At the same time. Things just looked better….
Recently I signed on as a brand ambassador with Brother P-Touch. I was so excited for this opportunity as my own brand of being Perfectly Disheveled is almost synonymous with label making (or at ...Read More
I don’t know about you, but from the outside, my purses look fantastic. Reach your hand in though, and it’s possible your fingers could get attacked by a Loch ness-goldfish crumbed-diaper-tampon infested-monster.
Last month, I got to the office, opened my computer bag and voila: I had a lovely pair of underoos and a Pinocchio book waiting for me. Really? I’m that disheveled??
Recently I shot this video below for Piccolini TV. I gave myself a mini purse detox and it definitely felt better. What they edited out was the 95 tampons that would make one think I have some sort of horrible reproductive period thing happening, which thankfully, I do ...Read More
