As a little girl, my dream in life was to get married and have a big family. Mission accomplished (twice, lol!) So when the holidays roll around, I’m not going to lie and pretend I dread the holiday card frenzy. I don’t! I love it. I love having a reason to hire a photographer and get pictures of us all together. I even like the process of stamping and labeling envelopes. I know, weird. But the thing is, we all know that behind these photos, children were screaming, the house is a mess, mommy is counting down the seconds until the kids go to sleep, and daddy is checking the ...Read More
Go Forth and Forty I’ve typed and retyped an opening sentence 58 times. I was going to start by saying something simple and straight to the point like: “My 40th birthday is in 10 days” But that is so… it’s just… so… And not what I’m really trying to say. The problem is, I’m not sure what I’m trying to say about my birthday… That I’m sort of freaking out? That I’m sort of thrilled and excited? That I now understand the horror “magic” of my rear view mirror and all that it reveals? A lot of my older girlfriends tell me that 40 is fabulous. That at 40, you are finally confident– you know who you ...Read More

If there was an Olympic Sport for Blaming, I would be a renowned Gold Medalist. Part naturally gifted, part trained, I am an elite athlete with a skill level so high, even Nike couldn’t afford to endorse me. I am that good. I could say that I discovered my talent in 2003, at the start of my first marriage, but that would be an look like an admission of guilt, and good blamers don’t do that. Especially because: Everything is everyone’s fault anyway!!! 1st husbands, 2nd husbands, mothers, sisters, friends, KIDS (oh, don’t even get me started on the kids, they are the worst culprits): They all, for lack of a better ...Read More

photo by Leah Lee Photography This week marks my one year wedding anniversary with Peter. This year has been a whirlwind of life… We’ve traveled across the sea, jumped into oceans, walked on ancient ruins, eaten our weight in pizza, danced silly dances with a 7 year old… We’ve experienced so much joy and even heartbreak. But here we are, one year later a family of three expecting one more… There is so much I could say about the fact that Jonah will be a big brother, and Peter a father, and me a second time mom… All of that I will get to over the next few months… Believe me, from maternity fashion, to nursery decor, ...Read More
I could write a really long intro about the announcement I’m about to make, but let me just cut to the chase: Our wedding has been featured on J.Crew  and I am literally bursting at the seams with excitement!!! JCREW. AHHH! In August 2013, just a few weeks after Peter proposed, I was lucky to have to go New York to shoot some videos with LifetimeMoms. While I was there, I not only ate my weight in pizza and champagne with one of my besties, BUT I made an appointment at the JCrew bridal salon on 5th Ave just cuz. The Percy gown was the second dress I tried on… Simple, elegant, comfortable and ...Read More
At a certain point, I thought Jonah’s love of bathroom talk (read: all things poop and fart) would sort of dwindle… With age, a bigger interest in sports, video games and Lego sets that have wiped out my savings, I just figured the potty talk would die. Oh, silly, woman. How wrong you were. Nope, poop talk is still a hit. And it’s even better when you’re 7 years-old and the other (grown) male in the house is right there with you in this topic. Many a night has a bedtime routine been derailed as a fart escapes one of them… Turning my house into a Beevis and Butthead sketch. (Butthead. Ha, if Jonah ...Read More
For our final destination on our honeymoon extravaganza, we we headed to beautiful Santorini, Greece where we stayed at the Canaves Oia Hotel. Santorini is located in the southwest of the Cyclades Islands cluster. We flew from Rome to Athens, and Athens to Santorini; the flight was about 45 minutes. There are two towns that people usually stay in on Santorini: Fira or Oia. We opted for Oia for several reasons- but mostly it was because we wanted to end our trip with 4 days of pure NOTHING. This was our chance to relax, soak in the sun, the views, and the wine. And boy, it could not have been better. Day 1 With ...Read More
Love this door in the Jewish Quarter After 4 nights of feeling like royalty, it wasn’t easy to say goodbye to Palazzo Avino. But our last night in Ravello, we met a lovely couple from Dallas who were at the hotel for their 10-year wedding anniversary. They assured us that, we too, would return one day (and stay in a much larger and more expensive room). I agreed… and then asked Peter if he would sign a “honeymoon-nup” agreeing to these terms too. Haven’t  gotten it in writing yet, but I’m fairly certain that after that experience, legal action won’t be necessary… So off to Rome we went… We arranged to have a driver take us ...Read More
My blog post was written as part of my part of my collaboration with eBay but these views are my own. What’s the way to my guy’s heart? Golf. Whether it’s me being super  supportive and cheery (read: “I guess… if you have to”) of those Saturday morning rounds, or super supportive and cheery about those green jacket filled events (read: “The Masters are taking over my life”), I know that a little display of love and appreciation towards rolling greens with 18 holes, will go a long way. (Btw-Seriously 18 holes seems pretty extreme. Are 9 not enough?!) While down in Palm Springs for Memorial Day weekend, we popped in to ...Read More
One month ago, I married the man of my dreams and we spent the night dancing and laughing with our closest family and friends. Per his request, but mostly in my planning (perfectionist) state, I handed off a desired playlist to our trusted music aficionado, Jesse Kivel of Dart DJ. Of course we had our picks for special moments like the first dance (Otis Redding’s “That’s How Strong My Love Is) , recessional music (Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life”) and other important songs (Peter walked down to “Born to Run” by well, The Boss, of course). But, in my wildest dreams, I would have never thought that the song ...Read More
