I’m halfway through Glennon Doyle’s Untamed, and by half way I mean I’m an hour in on audible, and an hour as we know it now in “pandemic” terms could mean “forever” or “Tuesday” and no one really would know the difference.  Anyway, I’m listening to this book, something I’ve never done ever, because these days I need to have my eyes free for important things like simultaneously watching women I don’t know get facials and fillers on Instagram, or checking the vaccination websites obsessively to see if I should make/cancel/make/cancel appointments even though its not/ but kind of is/ but not/ it should be though my turn. Also, I ...Read More
This past week marked my last week of a partnership with KLEAN LA… which meant my glorious 24 day run of all things gluten and soy free, was coming to an end. But guess what? I had so much success and am feeling so great, I’m not going to stop! In 24 days, which basically spanned over 5 weeks (as I scheduled my deliveries to Monday-Friday), I lost about 6 pounds and feel fantastic! With 47 days until “the big day,” *(but who’s counting, really) I’m not stopping now! There is obviously a big financial consideration when it comes to choosing to do a diet delivery service. But knowing that I ...Read More
Greek Chicken Salad with Romaine, LentilsPomegranates, Walnuts, Mint Balsamic Vinaigrette If you come to my house and enter the kitchen, on the counter you’ll see a huge (and I mean huge) container labeled “VIRGIN DIET.”  Usually people do a double take and wonder what exactly I’m doing and (usually the men) make a joke asking if I know that ship sailed for me a long time ago. Ha ha ha. I reassure them that I’m not becoming a nun but in fact trying to follow a diet created by JJ Virgin. The Virgin Diet calls for eliminating 7 things: Soy, corn, gluten, dairy, sugar and artificial sweeteners, eggs and peanuts. Sounds cray ...Read More
This year, Thanksgiving and Chanukah are sharing the spotlight. For my family, this means that at 5 o’clock when the turkey coma usually sets in, we’re going to have to rally for a little dreidel and gift exchanging action. This also means that as the Thanksgiving host, (I must be out of my mind to take this on this year), in addition to getting my menu prepped and table decor in line, I’m going to have to going to have to think about gifts about a month sooner than I normally would! As a curator for eBay’s new collections program, I’ve gotten a head start on all the things I want ...Read More
Ah, it’s March and that means Spring is in the air… Actually, here in Los Angeles, Spring was in the air in December and pretty much all through January…  and I’m pretty sure I spotted Summer one weekend in February…. So forget the air part. It’s just March. And that means a lot of things… For starters, for the past couple of years, every March I seem to make it my mission to cleanse. I want to clean house. To clean body. To clean mind. Without fail though, having just spent the two months prior to March making excuses, mentally, as to why postponing all my “cleansing” resolutions is probably better ...Read More
