wedding decor

This week marks my one year wedding anniversary with Peter. This year has been a whirlwind of life… We’ve traveled across the sea, jumped into oceans, walked on ancient ruins, eaten our weight in pizza, danced silly dances with a 7 year old… We’ve experienced so much joy and even heartbreak. But here we are, one year later a family of three expecting one more…
There is so much I could say about the fact that Jonah will be a big brother, and Peter a father, and me a second time mom… All of that I will get to over the next few months… Believe me, from maternity fashion, to nursery decor, ...Read More

Wedding Table Setting Barn Wood Vintage – Perfectly Disheveled Photo By Leah Lee Photography
I am having serious wedding DIY withdrawals. Exactly 7 months ago today, Peter and I got married at the beautiful Apple Creek Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley and if I’m being honest, the thing I miss the most about that day: Planning for that day. It truly consumed me. Because of the barn setting and the open fields, it was so important to me that the decor reflected the venue and the overall whimsical and backyard-family like vibe we were going for. I coined ...Read More
Exactly 3 months ago, my living room looked like Paper Source threw up everywhere. Paper, ribbon, labels, chalkboard (everything) covered my dining room table, while old cafeteria cans turned in to “old” fruit and vegetable cans lined the floor… Painted lanterns, mismatched crystal votives, big vintage windows, would-be wooden table runners surrounded by painters tape… to give an accurate sense of table schematic, of course.
Ahh, those were the good ‘ol craft-tastic pre wedding frenzy days.
Now, a lonely bunch of peonies sit in a mason jar atop the dining room table… which is now home to honeymoon central. (More on that later!)
There are still so many details, DIY how-to’s and photos of ...Read More
Almost two weeks ago, I started to write a post….
March 26th. 10:30am…
As I type this post, I’m sitting under a heat lamp with foils in my hair and a latte by my side. With just 72 hours to go until I say “I Do,” I’m in full bridal beautification mode and if I’m being honest, it’s kind of the best part of the planning process. This week, I’ve had, in no partcicular order (certainly not by rank of what hurts the worst): My eyebrows shaped and tweezed, waxing, laser hair removal, (Judaism = Hair issues), a manicure/pedicure, and now a cut, highlights, gloss and blowout.
In just a couple hours (oh, ...Read More
When it comes to party planning, in my opinion, one of the most important details is the very first thing that people see: The Invitation! To me, the invitation sets the tone. Everything from color, shape, texture, and wording dictates what kind of an event your going to have and how people should feel about it. Granted, I’m one of those freaks who notices every detail down to the stamp placement (and if it coordinates with the theme of the event), so I realize that my opinion is slightly skewed, but still… This is is one area that I wasn’t willing to go anti-bridezilla on.
From the moment Peter asked me ...Read More
My friends keep asking me if I’m less stressed “this time around….” They wonder if since this is my second wedding, I’m less intense or less interested in all the little details…
Um… Nope. I’m still every bit as crazy as I was the last time.
Let me be clear though: I’m not the bride that is dictating that the bridesmaids have identical hairdo’s or that felt the urge to spend thousands on a wedding dress. Oh no. My bridesmaids (might I point out my life long best friends and sister in laws) have been given one detail: Wear navy and have alcohol standing by for me. Simple right? Oh, and my ...Read More
Ho, ho, ho. The Holidays are here and boy, could I used a heavily spiked beverage. While this holiday season is extra sweet because of all the wonderful things that have happened this year, like everyone else, it’s hard not to feel completely overwhelmed as the year winds down. However, it was important to me to send out a holiday card this year to share my gratitude to all of our friends and family. Luckily, I’ve partnered with Minted.com to help make this holiday card process an easy one and will also be working with them on wedding invitations, menus, and programs.
Like I said, I needed to make the process an easy ...Read More
This year, Thanksgiving and Chanukah are sharing the spotlight. For my family, this means that at 5 o’clock when the turkey coma usually sets in, we’re going to have to rally for a little dreidel and gift exchanging action. This also means that as the Thanksgiving host, (I must be out of my mind to take this on this year), in addition to getting my menu prepped and table decor in line, I’m going to have to going to have to think about gifts about a month sooner than I normally would!
As a curator for eBay’s new collections program, I’ve gotten a head start on all the things I want ...Read More
