summer wardrobe

Summer Style & Travel: Mexico Edition It’s hard to believe that two years ago, I was writing a post about what three dresses I planned to wear as I pranced around Italy and Greece on our honeymoon. That was the trip of a lifetime and seems like forever ago… but I guess time certainly has a way of flying when you’re making babies and moving in to a new house. From Oliver’s amazing health, to Jonah finishing 2nd grade with flying colors, and Peter graduation with an MBA from UCLA (and working full time!) we have so much to celebrate and in my opinion, deserve another fabulous vacation! (Cue the St. Regis, Punta ...Read More
JC Penney: #SoWorthIt Mother’s Day Style You know those moments when you put on an outfit and your girlfriends go crazy because they simply cannot believe you spent as little as you did, yet it looks so good? Well, I’m not bragging (okay, I am), but I am kind of having those moments a lot lately… And honestly, it feels fantastic!   Last weekend, I teamed up with JC Penney and Pinterest to bring Pinterest boards to life at the Northridge Fashion Center. It was our mission to make sure that moms never have a #PinterestFail again! For two days, we showcased some fabulous outfits, perfect for Mother’s Day, as well as every day ...Read More
My Body, My Motivation: Thanks, Kim Kardashian. Me. Honeymooning in Santorini, Greece.June 2014 I want to hate Kim Kardashian for recently posting a naked selfie (that she admits is not even of her post baby body), but I can’t. In response to the uproar over her breaking the internet yet again, Kim writes “I am empowered by my body, I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same ...Read More

When I got a call from the awesome team at Monrow clothing asking if I was interested in hosting an exclusive sale to my readers, I think I blurted out YES before they could even complete their question. I am a tee shirt girl through and through and I have been in love with the  V-Neck tees from Monrow for years. Soft, oversized and the perfect dip in “V,” I wear these puppies with basically everything. Seriously, I’ve been wearing the Granite V-neck Tee so much lately that Jonah asked me if I had anymore clothes. Since I work from home, “getting dressed” is simply a term for working out, showering, and changing ...Read More
Right now, when it comes to Fall fashion I’m all about simplicity. This summer I went a little nuts getting my wardrobe ready for our whirlwind, European honeymoon. (Let’s be honest, I purchased just a tad more than 3 dresses for 3 cities). While I have a closet full of lovely summer gear, which thanks to LA weather can actually still be worn, it really is time to shift into Fall. Thankfully, my birthday falls in September so I was able “gift” myself some new duds, including the Clare Vivier fold over clutch. OBSESSED. But now, it’s time to slooooow things down. Time to simplify. Even though I had to slow my roll, there ...Read More
When it comes to following fashion trends, there are a few sites and blogs that I turn to for inspiration and ideas. (#ootd bathroom selfies not withstanding). But these days, if you asked my Amex (and my husband), there’s one site in particular that gets my “have to have it” heart. Yep… It’s pretty safe to say that Piperlime is my other man. In fact, I confess: I’m kind of a Piperlime style slut. Between Olivia Palermo’s picks, and the other awesome contributors, I feel like I’m always getting great ideas and updates on new arrivals and how to style them together… and sometimes there are even site wide discounts or flash sales. Best days EVER! ...Read More
For our final destination on our honeymoon extravaganza, we we headed to beautiful Santorini, Greece where we stayed at the Canaves Oia Hotel. Santorini is located in the southwest of the Cyclades Islands cluster. We flew from Rome to Athens, and Athens to Santorini; the flight was about 45 minutes. There are two towns that people usually stay in on Santorini: Fira or Oia. We opted for Oia for several reasons- but mostly it was because we wanted to end our trip with 4 days of pure NOTHING. This was our chance to relax, soak in the sun, the views, and the wine. And boy, it could not have been better. Day 1 With ...Read More
When we started thinking about our honeymoon, we turned to Katie of Ever After Honeymoons for some serious guidance. We got married in March but our honeymoon wouldn’t be until mid June. It’s not too often that two adults with full careers, an MBA program (for Peter), and a child are able to take 2 weeks off… from it all! So we felt pretty lucky. Of course, our budget wasn’t unlimited, so we had to do some careful planning. With Katie’s help, we decided we’d go to Italy and Greece and stay in 3 cities. First Stop: Amalfi Coast, Italy With Katie’s guidance, we opted for the stunningly gorgeous Palazzo Avino in Ravello. ...Read More
In exactly one week from today, I will be in a little speed boat traveling along the Amalfi Coast with a stop for seaside lunch at Lo Scoglio and a dip in the Emerald Grotto. I’ve been told that wanting to pry ourselves from our hotel in Ravello, Palazzo Avino, will be nearly impossible… But with only 4 days in this gorgeous region of Italy, I want to try to see as much as possible… and relax as much as possible…. and eat as much as possible… As mentioned in a previous post, to say that I’ve been mildly obsessed with carving out the culinary portion of the trip would be ...Read More
