Back to School Classroom Essentials from CVS

I would totally be lying if I said I was bummed that it’s already time for the kiddo to go back to school. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been an awesome summer… From fun getaways, to a new home, to daily dips, and baseball games, we’ve packed a lot in. But if I haven’t made it abundantly clear, I’m pregnant (9 months to be exact), HOT, and ready for normalcy to resume (wait, there is normalcy with a new baby, right? Please, say right). Still, as excited as I am for for school to start, there’s no doubt that I have a little bit of sadness about my first baby starting 2nd grade. 2nd grade??? Just a minute ago we were putting stickers on his little plastic box for his preschool cubby. Now it’s all, “Mom, I’m not carrying that backpack,” or “I’m not wearing a ‘cute’ back to school outfit, MOM!”

In gearing up for our/his big day tomorrow, I checked out his new teacher’s class website and I was delighted to see not only the curriculum, but a clear-cut list of the kind of the supplies we’d need to have available at home for the children… book covers, #2 pencils, notebooks… all of the supplies that used to make me giddy as a school girl (Perfectly Disheveled confession: I was a total nerd. Since the boys didn’t pay much attention to me until high school, okay, college, it was the school supplies that got me going). I lived for covering my books… My mom was the queen of saving paper bags, so there was never a shortage, and we happened to be really good at covering the books like a glove and making sure the supermarket logos were never to be seen. However, these days, most of us (when we can remember) head to the market and back, armed with reusable bags (especially if you live in a city where they charge for brown bags like mine!)

Luckily, CVS sells awesome book covers that are adjustable for all different size books. Their entire collection of back to school goods is fantastic. Their exclusive line of Caliber school supplies has everything your kids need to be a success in the classroom from notebooks and pens to pencil cases and binders. Here are some of my favorite things that I just picked up from CVS!

Jonah isn’t the only one going back to school! Peter finishes up his MBA program this year (HOORAY!! Night school = no fun). These highlighters and super glide pens from Caliber are musts for those late nights of studying. And if you have kids heading off to college, CVS/pharmacy’s Total Home line provides a range of dorm room necessities including laundry detergent, stain removers, wet mopping cloths and room spray.
