IMG_5896 Must Have Pool and Beach Supplies from CVS

Los Angeles has had a crazy unseasonably hot and humid summer so far. At 8 months pregnant, this has been the opposite of enjoyable. However, (and I’m not going to sugar coat this and certainly not trying to brag): Having a pool in my backyard has been MAGICAL.  Game changing. This pool has saved me/US this summer in so many ways. For starters, I’ve learned that the Summer “Mooooom, I’m booooored” Cry happens a whole lot less when there’s a nearby (and free!) watering hole that you can jump and splash around in for hours on end. Plus, since said former Mom I’m bored crier is now a confident swimmer, his mom (hello!), doesn’t necessarily have to get in the pool- but can enjoy the IDEA of the pool from the sidelines (and shade).

Truth be told, at 8 months pregnant on those hot afternoons, I’m more often than not IN the pool with the kid. Especially, after I accidentally leave the heater on over night thereby accelerating the temperature to 98 degrees (okay, one day it was 105. It was almost too hot to swim). Needless to say, the hubby wasn’t too thrilled with that move. I will say though that my forgetfulness actually just means we have to heat the pool once a week. That’s not so bad, right? (Say, right!)

Well thanks to my friends at CVS, I’ve been able to score some awesome pool essentials that have made life in the backyard not only easier, but fun.  I also have found seriously affordable and convenient items for the beach, which his great on those days we’re feeling like we need a little coastal breeze.

For the pool, here are some of the great finds from my local CVS:

Of course, no matter where you go this Summer, you can’t forget your sunscreen! The CVS brand sunscreens are as long lasting and water resistant as name brands.

The best part of my shopping trip was that I remembered to save my receipt from last time and used my $5 rewards at checkout.

All in all, I’d say this is turning out to be one successful outdoor summer. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go turn off the pool heater before it becomes a sauna (again!)
