In exactly one week from today, I will be in a little speed boat traveling along the Amalfi Coast with a stop for seaside lunch at Lo Scoglio and a dip in the Emerald Grotto. I’ve been told that wanting to pry ourselves from our hotel in Ravello, Palazzo Avino, will be nearly impossible… But with only 4 days in this gorgeous region of Italy, I want to try to see as much as possible… and relax as much as possible…. and eat as much as possible…
As mentioned in a previous post, to say that I’ve been mildly obsessed with carving out the culinary portion of the trip would be an understatement. The focus on food has inevitably affected my feelings on what I’ll pack… With 3 food-tastic cities, comfort (and cuteness!) will be key!
Our first stop is the Amalfi Coast, then Rome, then Santorini, Greece…. Each city has it’s own romantic charm and I’m beyond excited to take it all in. When it comes to dressing the part, a summer honeymoon full of relaxation, romance, food, beach and sun calls for dresses… and lots of ’em.
A world renowned over-packer, this trip, I’m going to try to keep my outfits simple and packing to a minimum. I’ve got 3 perfect dresses and looks in mind for these 3 cities… For the Amalfi Coast, I picture something nautical and light… For Rome, a maxi dress with gladiator sandals, of course- paired with a chambray shirt when we visit the Vatican and need to cover knees and shoulders…. For Greece, white, white and more white with some beautiful embroidery and a pair of aviators to top it off.
