After making my first sell on eBay, I decided I was going to try out selling something I consider as important as air: Accessories! I recently bought a ton of jewelry from Forever 21 for an event that I never used or wore (and you can’t return it)… So why not turn my “trash,” so to speak, into another woman’s treasure… And make a little extra cash. As an eBay Parent Panel ambassador, I’m excited to continue experimenting with buying and selling. Here’s a little video I shot about my process including an extra vid so you can see the product up close. Oh, and in case you want ...Read More

Ho, friggin’, ho. ‘Tis the season to be jolly… and make fun of holiday sweaters. Whether the lit up mall and long lines for Santa are getting you in the holiday spirit or not, one thing is for certain, this time of year, especially for parents, is pure madness. From holiday parties at schools, to gifts for teachers, to scheduling play dates and plans while school’s out, our dance card is full… And that’s not including the holiday work parties and family/friend get togethers (where I pray that the egg nog is spiked and the latkes are extra crispy). A few weeks ago, my girl Robin Saperstein of High Heel ...Read More
For those of you that don’t live in the world of all things (mom) blog, two weekends ago, I headed down to San Diego to attend BlogHer. There were about two dozen incredible and fun things that happened that weekend thanks to the Kate to my Alli, Diane Mizota, and my future bridesmaid (though she doesn’t know it) Jenny Feldon. But one of the best parts of the weekend, was that I got to spend the day shopping for Sears Style with the beautiful Erika Lehmann and Ellen of Thrifty and Chic Mom. The mission of Sears Style is to make women look and feel good in ...Read More
…And that’s just what they’ll do. Kind of.
I have a new theory. After my wardrobe overhaul, I realized my clothes had more of a personality than I thought. It occurred to me today as I went to put on a newly styled outfit, that my clothes had voices and lives a la Toy Story… I had this vision that every time I opened the closet door, my oldest and most pilled sweater prayed for me to put it on…. My old jeans, slumped over some hanger, knowing their days were numbered and I was just keeping them around for sentimental purposes, probably muttered “F you” under it’s breath as I pushed them aside for my skinny jeans… ...Read More
The day Robin Saperstein of High Heel in a Haystack contacted me about doing a Fashion Makeover, I was convinced we were having a kharmic, psychic fashion connection. Here I was, having just shot a video on how Appearances matter when it comes to Manners and how my American Apparel pullover and Lululemon yoga pants could take my son to preschool on their own if need be– and an LA based, celebrity stylist and former designer contacts me about working together…?! Well, to quote Lady Bananas: I. DIE. The deal was Robin was going to come over and give me a Wardrobe Overhaul. Together, we would examine my wardrobe from ...Read More
I don’t often check my stats to see what kind of traffic I get. Even though I’ve been blogging since 2007, I generally assume that no one except my mom and maybe a teenager lost on the Internet in Uruguay reads my blog. Okay, fine, that may sound a little pathetic, but in all honesty, the dial is very seldom pushed by a new referring URL or traffic source. However, the other day I noticed a spike— from two places… one took research. One did not. The one that took research eventually led me to a lovely little forum where everyone’s avatar/ photo is of Joe Flannigan. (You remember him from ...Read More
