I’m a girl who likes a plan. I thrive on order and system. A Virgo through and through, there is no detail “too detailed” and no perfecting “too perfect.” So you can imagine how out of my little Type A comfort zone I feel right now, battling a head cold. Nine. Days. Before. The. Wedding.
Sniff.
As I sneeze all over the computer typing this and sipping my coffee, (Oh, you thought I’d say “tea,” huh? Yah, right. I’m getting married in 9 days, work full time and have a 6 year old. Coffee it is), I realize that there are actually a few things that I have ZERO control over. And this cold is certainly one of them.
So while I let this little nuisance run it’s course (because it will!!), I’m trying to focus on the things that I can do and plan for…. And well, when we’re talking Wedding, as much as I’ve loved all my DIY and crafting projects, there’s nothing more fun than thinking and planning Wedding fashion!! And I’m not just talking about the white dress…. I’m talking about what I’m wearing all weekend long to all the different events.
Since we’re getting married in Santa Ynez (Santa Barbara County’s wine country, about 2 hours outside of Los Angeles), there are a slew of fun events throughout the weekend… and well, I’m determined to put this raw, red nose beyind me and look/feel my best. So, invited my sweet friend and talented stylist Robin Saperstein to “sign off” on a couple of outfits.
The plan…
Friday Day:
Greet Guests, lunch at our favorite restarutna nd rehearsal/walkrhu at our wedding venue. My most important mission is to keep my feet comfortable in preparation for Saturday’s wedding. I want something cute and easy to move it. So I opted for this black, boatneck chiffon shift dress by Tildon from Nordstrom, denim jacket from The GAP, bright red flats from Old Navy, necklace from Forever 21, and bracelets from GRockLA.
I’ll be carrying my binder (organization freak waving hand over here!) and, of course, my heels for the rehearsal, so will be carrying this fabulous canvas tote given to me at my bridal shower.
Friday night Rehearsal Dinner: I’m rocking a Dolce Vita Dress and Schutz shoes… pictures coming!
Saturday day:
THE BIG DAY. It’s important to stay comfortable while I hang in the hotel room with my favorite girls (and Jonah) getting glamorous. I’m going to wear these cute shorts and tank this beautiful silk robe from Anthropologie which is perfect for lounging with the bridal party (and Jonah) as we all get glam. It’s important to wear stuff that’s easy to slip on and off with makeup!
Sunday:
I’ll be married. Who cares what I look like now?! Just kidding. As we drink one last mimosa and enjoy brunch and goodbyes, I wanted to something that feels light and flowy and looks like I could be darting off to my honeymoon (even though we’re not going until June. So we chose this floral blouse from JCrew, white always skinny GAP jeans, Steve Madden sandals, Crystal necklace from JCrew, and bracelets from @GROCKLA.
Can’t wait for the fun weekend and to marry the love of my life. Now it’s time to nurse this cold!
