When one thinks of having a baby, there are most certainly two words that you would never think of side by side: Labor and Games. For most women labor is the FURTHEST thing from fun and games. While my experience wasn’t horrific, (actually, it was pretty downright smooth), I still wouldn’t call it a walk in the park and I still wouldn’t categorize it under “Fun.” Miraculous, yes. Fun, ehhh. Not so much. Somehow though, TLC has managed to create a show that gives a little levity to the act of labor with a new game show called “Labor Games.” It basically goes like this: A lovely host barges into a hospital and ...Read More
Lately, I’ve started to come to terms with the fact that no one has a perfect or easy life. Everyone’s got “somethin’”and we’re all just trying to get by. Even when I see those lovely little photos and updates on my social platforms, I’m reminded that yes, life is good for me and my friends, but it’s not always easy and often times, a lot of times, it requires thick skin. Especially for moms. This year, though I’m beyond excited to have baby on the way, has definitely had its bumps. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about myself, it’s that I am a warrior. I’m a fighter. I am one tough mother. There’s ...Read More
Me with Maria Menounos at Ocean Spray Event for PACt
Last week, I attended a fantastic launch party in Hermosa Beach alongside Maria Menounos, E! Entertainment TV host, for the first taste of an innovative new beverage – PACt™ cranberry extract water from Ocean Spray.  We all know by now the importance of drinking water and staying hydrated. But let’s face it, sometimes we want a little more flavor… As someone who’s given up her daily diet soda, I can tell you, what to reach for instead of water has been a challenge. There’s only so much lemon, ginger, and cucumber you can add to water, ya know? PACt™ harnesses the health benefits of the cranberry with the hydration benefits of purified ...Read More
Like most kids, when my son gets home from school he is starving. Though I send him a well-rounded and plentiful lunch, it usually gets half eaten because, recess. Duh. Often times, we have a slew of (sweaty) boys over for a playdate. Sometimes, it’s just me or my babysitter at the helm, other times, it’s kids and their moms for one big round of “don’t throw that down the stairs, boys play nice, please no jumping on the bed” extravaganza. The biggest hurdle for me and these playdates: Coming up with healthy but satisfying snack solutions that won’t require too much clean up or too much fuss. (He got more ...Read More
If you ask Jonah what he wants as a gift for his birthday or a holiday he’ll quickly tell you: “Something science-y.” I’m pretty sure his love of all things science started when we were flipping through the television and he saw footage of a volcano erupting… This led to begging to see more volcanoes erupt, which led to an interest in rocks, which led to an interest in the earth (and geology), which led to an interest in other planets and space. These days, we’re on to genetics. Yes, my 7-year old is now obsessed with DNA. For a recent birthday, (or nothing… because he has a family of adoring ...Read More
From summer reading lists to summer activities for the kids to summer wardrobe essentials for us, there sure are a lot of must haves. While it would be nice to build that fort, or read that book, or wear that dress, it’s not always possible. (As if summer break actually means take a break for moms). Fortunately for me, however, (and now you!), I’ve teamed up with a new app that is a health and safety must-have that’s easy for anyone to get and use. LiveHealth Online is an app that offers a safe, fast and easy way for moms to talk face-to-face with a doctor to get a diagnosis and ...Read More
My blog post was written as part of my part of my collaboration with eBay but these views are my own. What’s the way to my guy’s heart? Golf. Whether it’s me being super  supportive and cheery (read: “I guess… if you have to”) of those Saturday morning rounds, or super supportive and cheery about those green jacket filled events (read: “The Masters are taking over my life”), I know that a little display of love and appreciation towards rolling greens with 18 holes, will go a long way. (Btw-Seriously 18 holes seems pretty extreme. Are 9 not enough?!) While down in Palm Springs for Memorial Day weekend, we popped in to ...Read More
This year, Thanksgiving and Chanukah are sharing the spotlight. For my family, this means that at 5 o’clock when the turkey coma usually sets in, we’re going to have to rally for a little dreidel and gift exchanging action. This also means that as the Thanksgiving host, (I must be out of my mind to take this on this year), in addition to getting my menu prepped and table decor in line, I’m going to have to going to have to think about gifts about a month sooner than I normally would! As a curator for eBay’s new collections program, I’ve gotten a head start on all the things I want ...Read More
Last week, eBay introduced a new feature which allows user to browse through handpicked products, grouped together in “Collections”curated experts, celebrities, bloggers, and… me! Similar to a Pinterest board, curators can aggregate whatever item(s) they’re digging within a certain genre, and users can follow us, and of course, purchase an item they might see on one of our collections. As a user myself, I’m on eBay all the time these days, scouring for just about everything (wedding related). But there are actually items that have nothing to do with “the big day” and are just things that I think are awesome or need… BPA free Containers for my ...Read More
Spring is here… So ’tis time to purge some of mama’s wardrobe and make some extra cashola so I can pay for the cute striped maxi that I haaaaaaaad to have. (It’s important to be current, isn’t it?) So, as they say, “out with the old, in with the new.” I considered having a garage sale but with eBay at my finger tips and a knack on selling, I figured it was worth a shot to list some things in my closet that I think are cute for Spring, (see below) and in perfect condition- some even NEW WITH TAGS, that just aren’t fitting me right anymore. With visions of ...Read More
