Photo by Jason Merritt/Getty Images for The Honest Company A few weeks ago, I had the chance to sit down and have a full-on girl chat with the lovely actress Jessica Alba at her book launch party for The Honest Life, hosted by TheMOMS (my fave NY girls). In her book, Jessica shares personal and relatable stories, covering topics essential to motherhood: Food (how to eat seasonally and healthfully without feeling like everything needs to be home/organically grown), Cleaning (how to clean and decorate your home with healthy, non-toxic products), Beauty tips (Um, she’s gorgeous… so I’m pretty sure she has this category down pat) and Style… In my opinion, Jessica Alba ...Read More
When people think of love the second time around, they usually think that it applies to a middle aged man or woman, who after a disappointing first marriage (or maybe an unexpected death) finds someone with an equal amount of baggage, and they fall in love. It’s unlikely that people would ever suspect that a man or woman in their 80’s could experience (or would even want to experience) love again…. But it happens. And it happened to my Nana. I’ve shared many of my favorite Nana stories and conversations here before. My most favorite was when she called me to tell me she couldn’t find her Yahoo… (Stick with ...Read More
If you’ve read my “About Me” section, then you know I was quite the ham when I was a little girl. From imaginary friends to belting Dionne Warwick love songs, I loved to perform and play pretend any chance I got. I was always pretty great with impressions and (as the winner for Best Sense of Humor in 8th grade) loved making people laugh. Still do. SO, I suppose it should come as no surprise that Jonah has developed his own shtick and loves nothing more than to make people laugh. Lately, if he’s not quieting down the room to tell a knock-knock joke, then he’s doing (unsolicited) imitations. And ...Read More
Michael Buble serenading Rachael Ray. Jim Carrey professing his love for a woman far too young for him. Khloe Kardashian talking about how she really felt about meeting Lamar Odom. Pauly D giving the 101 on how to get Jersey Shore hair in a flash. And me… dorking out to meeting Mr. Two and a Half Men Hottie Ashton Kutcher. Check out my YouTube Celebrity Unplugged Playlist that I recently filmed for Momversation. >
I don’t know about you, but from the outside, my purses look fantastic. Reach your hand in though, and it’s possible your fingers could get attacked by a Loch ness-goldfish crumbed-diaper-tampon infested-monster. Last month, I got to the office, opened my computer bag and voila: I had a lovely pair of underoos and a Pinocchio book waiting for me. Really? I’m that disheveled?? Recently I shot this video below for Piccolini TV. I gave myself a mini purse detox and it definitely felt better. What they edited out was the 95 tampons that would make one think I have some sort of horrible reproductive period thing happening, which thankfully, I do ...Read More
Recently I filmed a branded video for Kraft in which Jill Simonian and I take a quiz to see what the desserts we love say about our personalities. Given my options, I determined I was a cheesecake kind of gal. But in truth, I’m actually a french fry, loaf of bread, butter, and bottle of wine kind of a gal. What that says about my personality? I need to move to France. Alright, so I want to know, what dessert style are you?

Exciting news! I’m going to be co-hosting a new daily web series with Soleil Moonfrye called HerSay which launches and premieres tomorrow. The show will be a daily show covering all the hot topics from around the web. We’ll talk about parenting, relationships, celebrity, fashion and food. (PS. Just signed on to be Managing Editor of the site too!) Talking with Soleil is like talking with your very best friend or someone you’ve known forever…. In fact, I feel like I have known her forever… As a child in Los Angeles, I did a little bit of acting and one of the commercials I did in the 1980’s was ...Read More
When it comes to invitations of any kind, I do try to take some consideration when it comes to RSVPing. Ironically, I pulled a big RSVP “no no” just yesterday. Weeks ago, I had responded “Yes” to a 1st birthday party. Apparently, I had also responded “Yes” to plans to go to the Zoo with the entire family. DUH. Today, Lisa Gache of Beverly Hills Manners and I discuss RSVP etiquette… clearly, I need to heed my own advice! > Manners Monday: RSVP! from lisagache on Vimeo. Lisa’s RSVP Tips! Ø Keep Track of Your Invites. Once you receive an invitation, you should RSVP within 24-48 hours of its receipt. This system helps to ...Read More
> Manners Monday: Do You Have FOMO? from lisagache on Vimeo. According to a recent NY Times article, social media can induce feelings of being alone, left out, a loser… It’s called FOMO. Fear of missing out. And personally, every time I see a #hashtag for a fab event (that I haven’t been invited to), or a best/funniest/charming blogger of the world list published (that I’m not on), my FOMO sets in. Oh, and don’t get me started on the facebook status updates spewing marital bliss or tropical vacations for weeks on end. One word: FOMO! Well, Lisa Gache, my partner in all things manners, and I got to chatting about ...Read More
We have all sat across the table from a loved one, or worse, a coworker, and squirmed as we watched them merrily go about their meal, unaware of the massive piece of broccoli covering their front tooth. Should you tell them they have something in their teeth?? Would you want someone telling YOU there was green in your grill? The always lovely, (and seldom sloppy) Lisa Gache and I tackled these issues and more in today’s episode…. > Manners Monday: Life’s Embarrassing Moments from lisagache on Vimeo. Lisa’s Manners Tips for Life’s Embarrassing Moments: Ø Tell them about it. Whether it’s a piece of spinach in the teeth or a toilet seat cover ...Read More
